Facebook ads & SEO · Palm Desert & the Coachella Valley, CA

Two seasons. Two completely different businesses.

Winter brings the snowbirds and a full calendar. Summer brings heat that turns a broken AC into an emergency. Most businesses here only plan for one of them.

What's costing businesses here

The problems we see in Palm Desert & the Coachella Valley.

  • Clinics that go quiet every May

Practices built on the seasonal population watch revenue fall off when it leaves. The year-round residents were never the focus, so they aren't there to carry the summer.

  • Summer AC calls going to whoever answers

When it's dangerously hot, the homeowner doesn't compare. The first credible company that picks up gets the job — and usually the maintenance plan.

  • Ads that talk about age get rejected

"At your age" and "look younger" copy fails Meta's personal-attributes rules and underperforms with this audience anyway.

The market

What advertising here is actually like.

The Coachella Valley has the most extreme seasonality of any market we work in. From roughly November to April the population swells with seasonal residents, the golf courses are full, and clinics and aesthetics practices are booked. Then summer arrives, a large share of those residents leave, and the heat becomes the only story.

For contractors that heat is the business. In a valley summer an AC failure isn't an inconvenience — for an older resident it's a genuine danger, and they'll call whoever answers first. Pool equipment, electrical load and roofing under intense sun all follow the same calendar.

The audience skews older and wealthier than most of Southern California, which changes how you're allowed to advertise to them. Meta rejects copy that speaks to someone's age, and it's weaker copy anyway — this market responds to credibility and continuity, not to being told it looks tired.

How we'd run it here

Not the same campaign with a different ZIP code.

  • 01

    Two budgets, one per season

Clinics push hard in season and shift to year-round residents in summer. Contractors do the opposite. We plan the whole year in April rather than reacting in June.

  • 02

    Always-on emergency HVAC

A lean, always-running campaign with a phone that's answered, so you're the first call on the hottest afternoon — plus maintenance offers before the heat arrives.

  • 03

    Credibility-first creative

The clinician or owner on camera, years in the valley, and plain terms — including being clear about what's cash-pay, because this audience often assumes coverage.

Questions from Palm Desert & the Coachella Valley

Should a Palm Desert clinic stop advertising in summer?
No — shift it. The year-round residents are still here, cheaper to reach, and the practice that serves them in August keeps them in January.
What's the best time for HVAC companies to advertise here?
Maintenance offers in spring before the heat, then an always-on emergency campaign through summer with someone answering the phone.
