How this market buys
Why a plumbing company isn't like anything else.
Plumbing splits cleanly into two businesses that need completely different marketing. Emergency work — the burst pipe at 9pm — is won on being findable and answering the phone, which is search and your Google profile, not paid social. Nobody scrolls Instagram while their kitchen floods.
Planned work is the opposite, and it is where Facebook earns its keep. Repipes, water heater replacements, softeners, sewer line work — these are considered purchases with real ticket values, and the customer is not urgently looking. That is precisely the situation paid social is built for: creating demand rather than capturing it.
The trap is running ads for emergencies and concluding social does not work for plumbers. It works, on the half of the business that is planned — and that half usually carries the better margin anyway.
Watch this above everything
Cost per booked job
Plumbing lead volume is easy to buy and mostly meaningless. What matters is what a job on the calendar cost, because a lead that wanted a free quote at midnight is not a customer.
What we'd do
Three things that move the number.
01
Advertise the planned jobs, rank for the emergencies
Point paid social at repipes, water heaters and sewer work. Let search and your Google Business Profile catch the 2am emergencies. Running it the other way round is the single most common waste of budget in this trade.
02
Show the work, not the van
Photographs of a corroded pipe next to the replacement outsell a logo and a phone number decisively. Homeowners cannot judge plumbing quality, so they judge whether you look like someone who takes it seriously.
03
Price transparency as a filter
Putting a starting price in the ad loses you tyre-kickers, which feels like a loss and is not. Fewer, better-qualified calls beats a phone that rings all day with people who wanted a free quote to wave at somebody cheaper.
The mistake we see most
One service area drawn on a map
A radius that looks sensible on a map ignores traffic. Twenty miles across the 10 at rush hour is a different job to twenty miles on a Sunday, and jobs at the edge of the circle quietly lose money on drive time. Build the targeting on where the van gets profitably, not on distance.

Padgett Medical Center
Weight loss clinics · Ocala & Tampa, FL
Two clinics with more than 1,500 reviews between them — the kind of reputation that should have been dominating their area. Instead they had a website that barely worked on a phone. Across six months it produced 20 leads between both locations, and not one of them closed.

“I started with Viterium Digital about 2 months ago and the results have been absolutely amazing. They have sent patients into our clinic without any effort at all from us. They were qualified, they came in, they spent money. It's been absolutely excellent. After trying 17 different marketing companies this is the only one that I can honestly say has truly worked — and it has worked so well that we started with them for our second location.”

“Abe is obsessed with good results to a fault. You might get texts really late at night because he works really late, but he has that obsessive personality and I think that's why it works so well. He really cares about his work and prides on putting his name on things.”
