How this market buys
Why a weight loss clinic isn't like anything else.
Nobody arrives at a weight loss clinic casually. By the time someone fills in a form they have usually tried several things that did not work, and they are carrying a quiet expectation that this will be another one. That is the emotional starting point of every lead you get, and an ad that ignores it reads as one more promise.
The economics are unusually forgiving, which is why this industry is such a good fit for paid advertising. A patient on a programme is not a single transaction — they are several months of revenue, and often a renewal after that. It changes what you can afford to pay for a booking dramatically, and most clinics we speak to are spending far below what their own numbers would justify.
It is also a category where the consultation does most of the selling. The job of the ad is not to close anyone. It is to get a qualified person into a consultation where a clinician can have a real conversation — which means optimising for booked and attended consultations, not for form fills.
Watch this above everything
Cost per attended consultation
Not cost per lead, and not cost per booking. A booking that doesn't turn up cost you exactly as much as one that did and earned nothing.
What we'd do
Three things that move the number.
01
Advertise the consultation, not the outcome
Before-and-after promises invite scepticism and, increasingly, ad rejections — Meta is strict about personal health claims and implying a person's body is a problem. Selling a free or low-cost consultation is both more compliant and more honest, and it converts better because it asks for a much smaller yes.
02
Chase the no-show rate before the lead cost
Clinics routinely book well and then lose a third of it to no-shows. Reminders, a real confirmation call, and making it easy to reschedule move revenue faster than any change to targeting. Fixing this usually beats cutting cost per lead by a third.
03
Let staff be the creative
A clinician explaining how the programme actually works, filmed on a phone, outperforms polished stock every time. It answers the real question — is there a competent human behind this — which no amount of design does.
The mistake we see most
Judging the month on first-month revenue
A patient who stays five months is worth five times what the first invoice says. Clinics that measure a campaign on month-one revenue routinely conclude ads don't work while sitting on a book of patients those ads produced. Measure against the value of a patient, not the value of a transaction.

Padgett Medical Center
Weight loss clinics · Ocala & Tampa, FL
Two clinics with more than 1,500 reviews between them — the kind of reputation that should have been dominating their area. Instead they had a website that barely worked on a phone. Across six months it produced 20 leads between both locations, and not one of them closed.

“I started with Viterium Digital about 2 months ago and the results have been absolutely amazing. They have sent patients into our clinic without any effort at all from us. They were qualified, they came in, they spent money. It's been absolutely excellent. After trying 17 different marketing companies this is the only one that I can honestly say has truly worked — and it has worked so well that we started with them for our second location.”

“Abe is obsessed with good results to a fault. You might get texts really late at night because he works really late, but he has that obsessive personality and I think that's why it works so well. He really cares about his work and prides on putting his name on things.”
