How this market buys
Why a HVAC company isn't like anything else.
HVAC lives and dies by weather. The first genuinely hot week produces more demand than the preceding two months combined, and the companies that win are the ones already visible when it arrives — not the ones who start advertising after the phone gets busy. By then everyone is bidding and costs have doubled.
Ticket values are high enough that the maths is forgiving. A system replacement is worth many times a service call, so you can afford an acquisition cost that would be reckless in a lower-ticket trade — provided you are actually tracking which leads become replacements rather than repairs.
Maintenance plans change the whole picture. A customer on a plan is recurring revenue and the natural source of future replacements. Companies that advertise plans rather than one-off calls build a book that keeps paying, which is a fundamentally different business to chasing the next repair.
Watch this above everything
Replacement rate per hundred leads
Two campaigns can produce identical lead volume at identical cost while one delivers replacements and the other delivers $89 service calls. Only one of those is a business.
What we'd do
Three things that move the number.
01
Spend ahead of the season, not into it
Start before the first heatwave, while impressions are cheap and the auction is quiet. Being already known when demand spikes is worth more than any budget increase once everyone else has piled in.
02
Separate repair from replacement
They are different customers with different values and should not share creative or a conversion event. Optimising for combined leads teaches the algorithm to find you cheap repair calls, because there are more of them.
03
Sell the plan
A maintenance agreement is easier to say yes to than a system quote and turns a one-off into a relationship — plus it puts a technician in the home twice a year, which is where replacements actually get sold.
The mistake we see most
Turning ads off in the shoulder season
Going dark in spring and autumn saves a little and costs a lot. You lose the learning the algorithm accumulated, restart the learning phase every season, and hand the quiet months to whoever stayed visible. Lower the budget; don't switch it off.

Padgett Medical Center
Weight loss clinics · Ocala & Tampa, FL
Two clinics with more than 1,500 reviews between them — the kind of reputation that should have been dominating their area. Instead they had a website that barely worked on a phone. Across six months it produced 20 leads between both locations, and not one of them closed.

“I started with Viterium Digital about 2 months ago and the results have been absolutely amazing. They have sent patients into our clinic without any effort at all from us. They were qualified, they came in, they spent money. It's been absolutely excellent. After trying 17 different marketing companies this is the only one that I can honestly say has truly worked — and it has worked so well that we started with them for our second location.”

“Abe is obsessed with good results to a fault. You might get texts really late at night because he works really late, but he has that obsessive personality and I think that's why it works so well. He really cares about his work and prides on putting his name on things.”
